BIBLE READINGS FOR THE WEEK

Barbara Heckman on January 18, 2018

We will be reading through the Gospel of Luke for our daily Bible readings in January. Since Luke is familiar to so many, you might want to read it in a different Bible translation than you usually use. You can go to biblegateway.com, list your passage, and select from a host of different Bible translations. Remember, the goal is not to just read the selection for each day as quickly as you can, but to ponder its meaning, and ask the Lord how he wants to use it in your life!       Bible Readings for the week of January 15-19th:...

HOLD ONTO GOD'S CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Barbara Heckman on December 30, 2017

A Message from Pastor Mike: Though the calendar says that Christmas is over for another year, let me encourage you to hold on to some of God’s Christmas gifts for a little while longer.   The first gift to hold on to from Christmas is that God keeps his promises. One of the most amazing things about Jesus is that from his birth to his death and resurrection, he fulfilled over 300 predictions made by God's spokesmen centuries before. These prophecies are useful not only in identifying that Christ is indeed the Messiah of God, but also assures us that...

UPCOMING Round TABLE for PARENTS of TEENS with VICKIE KAVE

Barbara Heckman on November 30, 2016

ROUND TABLE FOR PARENTS OF TEENS WITH VICKIE KAVE Sunday, January 15th, 9:45 am we are planning another round table talk for parents and leaders of teenagers with Vickie Kave. During our last meeting, we all realized the importance of coming together share our concerns, pray and support each other. One of the issues we discussed is the fact that modern families experience a lot of 'detachment'. Often times young parents end up far away from the places where they grew up or where their parents live. Churches and parenting groups become their support system and help. In January, we will be talking about communication and listening skills. Every parent...

Morning BIBLE STUDY FLOATERS Needed

Barbara Heckman on February 14, 2016

Being a floater has nothing to do with either swimming or boating but rather is an important part of our church’s child protection policy. Ideally, each nursery, preschool, children and youth Sunday Morning Bible Study class would have two or more adult leaders. Unfortunately, because of our size, that standard is rarely realized. A floater is our solution to this problem. A floater is someone who goes from class to class, and looks in on what is happening. Since their appearance is unscheduled, they provide another layer of child protection. A floater is also available to assist the teacher if...
