Community Lenten Services lunch volunteers

Manly Memorial will once again host the Community Lenten Services at 12:10 pm in the sanctuary on Thursdays, March 7th – April 11th.
The services will last about 20 minutes and a light lunch will follow in the Fellowship Hall for $5.00.

We still need volunteers to set-up and clean-up for the lunch. If you can help, please let Pastor Mike know.

THE SCRAPPY CHURCH
The deacons held a retreat on February 23rd to discuss our thoughts about this year's journey with God. We would like to show God's love by helping people to make connections to God, to others in the church, and to those outside the church. We discussed in small groups three areas of focus based on the book Scrappy Church. The three areas are an "outward deluge" of showing God's love to others; supporting our vision of a "welcoming church;" and "closingthe back door," by keeping up connections within the church.

We invite you to join us in prayer about our journey with God, to join us in reading the book, and to join us by talking with any deacon about how you can be a part of our journey. This journey with God is for each and every one of us at Manly Memorial.

Easter Tulip Youth Fundraiser

The youth are offering tulips for Easter Sunday as a fundraiser. The cost is $12.00 and you may dedicate your tulip “In Memory” or “In Honor” of a loved one.
Sunday, March 31st is the last day to place your order.

Offertory Prayer

The Deacons have decided to expand the number of those who lead in the Offertory prayer during our times of worship by inviting other people from our church and community to occasionally participate.
The Offertory prayer is much more than an opportunity to make a mone-tary contribution to the expenses of this church, it is primarily a prayer of thanksgiving. Out of our gratitude to God for who he is, what he has done, is doing, and will do one day, we offer him our lives as well as our time, talents and treasures, for his use and service. As a token of our gratitude and commitment to God, if our resources allow, we place a gift in the
collection plate. This gift also symbolizes our recognition that all good things in this life come to us as a gift from God. More important than the size of the gift that is given, is the joy and thankfulness with which we give, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
If you would like to lead in the Offertory prayer some Sunday please let the Pastor or a deacon know.

Flip flops

February WMU Mission Projects

Flip Flops for Honduras - Parasites enter the body through bare feet in the tropical countries where sanitation is sometimes non-existent. A pair of flip flops can help keep a person healthy. This year they need mostly children's or small adult sizes.

These can be donated all year long in the box on top of the glass case near the choir room.

Casseroles are now in both the refrigerators in the downstairs pantry and the small kitchen beside the office.

Just remember to sign out on the sheet so we don’t have multiple people taking the same casserole to the same person at the same time.
